JJ is a multidisciplinary writer and performer with a B.A in Music Theatre (that they hardly ever use), and over 15 years of experience playing make-believe for money (and sometimes for free!)

For their experimental comedy work, they have sold out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe; Sydney Fringe, and Perth Fringe, earning a bevy of 4-star reviews - and one time - a nomination for 'Best Comedy’.

They have performed Stand Up all across Australia, as well as in New Zealand and London. Whilst in the States, they were invited to perform at New York’s UCB, West Side Comedy Theatre, and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

At their peak, they toured Australia regularly, from the big cities to small towns, and were honored to open for a bunch of international acts, including Tom Green and DJ Dougpound (Eric Andre, Tim & Eric).

They also had semi-regular appearances on The Comedy Channel, ABC Comedy, MTV and Triple J.

As a cabaret wordsmith, their writing has been seen and heard at Tasmania’s Festival of Voices, The Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the Melbourne Cabaret Festival; and at The Old Fitz, The Darlinghurst Theatre Company, and Hayes Theatre Co. Their longest on-going Cabaret collaboration is with Music Theatre powerhouse Erin Clare (Heathers, American Psycho, 9 to 5 & Beetlejuice), having written 3 shows together, and a possible 4th depending on how much more famous she gets.

For acting, Jared has been in over 20 commercials which made their parents happy because they were finally making money from their craft.

In 2017, Jared won 'Best Supporting Actor' at the SIFF, for Must Go Faster’s "Jinxed”.
In 2018, they starred in Stefan Hunt’s “We’re All Going

To Die” alongside Hugo Weaving. Yes, that one.
And in 2019, they won 'Best Actor' at SF3 for their performance in Joel Perlgut's "Sad Sachs".

This is going to sound made up, but at one Jared was a competitive beatboxer, and were lucky enough to work with Coca-Cola, Sony and even open for the late Rap Legend DMX!

Th

JJ has written & directed 11 shows, between themselves and for other artists. They like reminding themself of this because when they forget, they feel worthless.

JJ is currently taking a wee break from performing to focus solely on writing. They hope to keep expanding their wings till it causes strangers to say things like, “Whoa, mind your wings,” and “Damn, those are some sweet wings!” Predominantly due to a diagnosis of Special Brain, and the terror of being public-facing that came with it. Also to focus on their Horror Anthology and Screenwriting.

A highlight for Jared is playing the Druid (and various others) in Deerstalker's acclaimed webseries 1 For All, which now has amassed over 1 million subscribers.
